Candidate filings for Minnesota State Legislature and Senate seats now closed

There will be at least one primary contest in one area state senate race. In Senate District 28, DFLers Joe Fricke and Bruce Montplaisier will face off in August to see who will take on Republican John Howe. Long-time incumbent DFL Senator Steve Murphy has chosen retirement over anothre term. In Senate District 31, Incumbent DFLer Sharon Erickson Ropes is being challenged by Republican Jeremy Miller. In the Minnesota House races, incumbent Republican Steve Drazkowski is being challenged by DFL candidate Mark A. Schneider. The House District 31A race has incumbent Gene Pelowski–DFL facing Republican Rhett Zenke. House District 31B incumbent Republican Greg Davids face two challengers. They are DFL candidate Steve Kemp and Independent Party candidate Al Hein.
