Winona City Council Meets Tonight
A multi-purpose arena, sidewalk replacement and surplus city property are just three of the items up for discussion and action at tonight's meeting of the Winona City Council. Council is expected to approve members of a new ad-hoc committee that will oversee the pre-design process for a proposed city multi-purpose facility. The committee members, appointed by Mayor Jerry Miller, would be incharge of interviewing consultants and recommend one for approval by the city council for an arena-type facility that would not only be a venue for arts events like the Great River Shakespeare Festival, but also sports and other events. Tonight's meeting of the council will be held in City Hall Council Chambers beginning at 7:30 p.m.
