Services set for long-time Winona broadcaster Chuck Williams
We here at HBC–TV 25 lost a friend over the weekend. Long–time Winona broadcaster Chuck Williams died Saturday at his home in Winona at age 89. Many of you remember Chuck from his days at KWNO as an announcer and sportscaster. Chuck's play–by–play descriptions of Winona's sports teams vividly brought the games right through the radio. After retiring from KWNO in 1985, Williams continued to stay close to his radio roots work over the years writing advertising copy at Mediawerks, producing a Saturday morning radio column on KHME, and as a sportswriter here at HBC–TV before officially retiring in May 2008. A visitation for Chuck Williams will be held from 5:00 until 8:00 tonight at SMU's St. Thomas More Chapel. A funeral mass is scheduled for Tuesday evening at 5:00 at St. Thomas More Chapel.
