School board to meet Thursday

The Winona Area Public Schools board will be discussing the use of district buildings on weekends. The board is looking at ways to trim costs and had district administrators calculate the financial fisability of building use by district groups due to the high cost of custodian overtime. A move to curb weekend use of buildings could affect everything from sports tournaments to pancake breakfast fundraisers. The school board will also receive additional information on how shifting enrollments among existing buildings could benefit the district. The school board will meet Thursday night at 6:00 in Winona City Hall Council Chambers. The meeting will also be televised live on government access channel 19.
