Winona Police have identified the man killed by a train Monday morning as 51–year–old Bruce "Ernie" Streng of Winona. Streng was a long–time employee of the Coca–Cola Bottling plant in Winona, serving as a quality control technician. He was walking across the tracks at Johnson Street when police say video from a camera on–board the locomotive showed Streng trip and fall. Winona Police Deputy Chief Tom Williams said the train operator did see Streng, but that he could not stop in time. Investigators have referred the case to the county medical examiner.
