Man struck by train, killed in Winona

A 51–year–old Winona man was struck and killed by a train this morning as he crossed the tracks at Johnson Street. The man's name is expected to be released Tuesday morning. According to Winona Police, the accident happened at 6:45 this morning. Winona Police Deputy Chief Tom Williams said the train operator did see the man but could not stop in time. Williams said no foul play is expected. Investigation of the incident by police and Canadian Pacific Railway officials continues.
