The Winona County Fair unofficially kicks off Saturday in St. Charles. While the livestock barns, exhibit buildings and the midway will remain empty, the Kathy Ellinghuysen Memorial Horse Arena at the fair grounds will be teeming with activity. The annual 4–H horse show will begin at 8:00 am. On Monday, open class none–livestock exhibits can be brought to the Open Class Building. Tuesday features the 4–H dog show at 8:30 and non–livestock 4–H project judging from Noon until 7:00 pm. Getting underway at 7:00 are the open class dairy goat and meat goat show and open class dairy cattle show. The 151st annual Winona County Fair officially begins its run on Wednesday July 8.
